We help children, families, and individuals living in poverty to attain a more productive life by providing quality clothes, shoes, and other support services.
Our vision is that no person or family within our service area lacks the clothing they need to secure employment, succeed in school, maintain a healthy and hygienic life, and be socially accepted.
Clothes Cabin is a clothing bank that offers free, quality clothing, hygiene items, shoes and basic linens to anyone in need. Individuals affirm that they are financially unable to purchase clothing on their own and we collect basic demographic data used in our reports and grants. Clients may visit once every three months if needed and receive approximately 8-10 articles of clothing per person.
Support for our homeless clients that offers showers, mailboxes, storage lockers and weekly laundry as well as resource referral to outside services. Clients who are currently homeless can check in weekly, if needed, for one load of laundry and a shower at no charge. Use of the mailboxes and storage lockers are also free and clients can access at their convenience during our open hours.
Back to Work
Support for clients who are seeking or have newly obtained employment. Offers interview clothing, work clothing (professional, scrubs, outdoor work-wear) and for clients who have obtained new employment but the position requires steel-toe or non-slip work boots or shoes to begin work, Back to Work provides one pair of new shoes to begin work.
Provides clothing to partner agencies who offer services free to individuals in need, like Clothes Cabin. Donations that do not meet the standards for Clothes Cabin distribution or are in excess of Clothes Cabin’s needs are shared with local non-profit partners. Partner agencies enter an agreement with One Small Step that outlines the partner agencies need (example: men’s clothing) and agrees to provide the items to individuals in need at no cost to them.
One Small Step partners with local state and nonprofit organizations to offer classes and groups such as parenting classes, job training, coping and life skills. Classes must be offered to the community free of charge. If your organization would like to partner please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
