Caryn R. Shoemaker of Gilbert, Arizona, is retired from Maricopa Community Colleges. She is one of the founders of One Small Step and has been active in its operations since 2001. Caryn has a Master of Education degree in Community Counseling from Ohio University and a B.A. in Psychology from Ohio State University. She is Chairman of the Board and President of the corporation.
Dee Campbell of Chandler, Arizona is a Master Certified Corporate Trainer and owns her own consulting and training practice. She holds a Masters of Management Information Systems from Friends University, Wichita, KS and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baker University. She is the Vice President of the corporation.
Stuart Dougherty of Gilbert, Arizona is a banking officer for 1stBank where he started in 2013. He earned a B.A. in Business Communications from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University
Max Johanson of Chandler is a current Arizona State University student studying Aerospace Engineering with a focus in Aeronautics. He is a Fulton Ambassador and member of the Barrett Honors College at ASU.
Larry L. Langer of Gilbert, Arizona is a civil engineer, retired from Arizona Department of Transportation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Arizona State University. He is Treasurer of the corporation.
Kay Pratt of Sun Lakes, Arizona is a retired Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. She is one of the founders of One Small Step and has been active in its operations since 2001.
Leslie Ruiz of Chandler, Arizona has been a business owner in Pacific Grove, CA for ten years. She retired from Isola USA after 26 years as a purchasing manager with extensive training in ISO compliance and Lean Manufacturing. She is has been a member of the Ocotillo Women’s League (OWL) since October 2014 and has held the offices of Chair and Co-Chair for the OWL Community Service arm. Leslie began volunteering with the Clothes Cabin in January 2015.
Barbara Smith of Gilbert, Arizona is a self-employed accountant. After starting her career in the financial industry, she spent the next 18 years working as a certified public accountant. Barbara is an active volunteer and has served as a Girl Scout leader for the past 13 years in Gilbert. Barbara earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois.
Stephanie K. Smith is the owner and Vice President of Accounting for California Pools and Landscape. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Family Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Arizona State University.
Angelique Emery of Mesa, Arizona is Secretary of the corporation. She is Assistant Manager in the Sales Department of TEK Fitness Distributors, Mesa.
Amanda Nosbisch has dedicated her career to removing barriers to learning and addressing needs for children and families. Prior to her work at Clothes Cabin, Amanda served as the Program Manager at the Kyrene School District and developed an expertise in executing programs, budgets, grant management, as well as creating partnerships and deepening community connections.
Melissa Read has an industrial engineering degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She came to Arizona almost 25 years ago to work at Intel. Since then, she has volunteered in various roles in the community with Chandler Unified School District as a parent volunteer, and with her church in a variety of ministries. Most recently, she served as an AmeriCorps member with the Maricopa County Superior Court and the Arizona Supreme Court.
